Volunteer Shuttle Day

Our chance to say thank you to some of the amazing people that are behind Wellingtons amazing trail network.

On Sunday we hosted our first annual free volunteers shuttle day.  This was our opportunity to say thank you to the amazing folks who give up their own time to expand and maintain our trail network.  We hosted trail builders, pest trappers, a medic, a photographer, a Cycling NZ coordinator and committee members/chairs.  Without these amazing super stars of Wellington Mountain Biking we wouldn't be able to enjoy the sport as we do.  They were also such a fun group!

We had an amazing time hosting representatives from NtrailsZ, BAMBA, Brooklyn Trail Builders, Makara Peak Supporters Club, Wellington MTB Club, Mana Cycling Group, and TGL contracting.  We rode Belmont Regional Park, Wainui Trail Project, Pol Hill Reserve, and thanks to the Wellington City Council we also shuttled Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park which is usually closed to the public.  We finished the day at Heyday Beer Co for some tasty brews and a good old chin wag.

If you see a trail builder out there - give them a hug, or buy them a beer!  These are great New Zealanders!!!
